Bristol Commons
Apartments in Taunton, Massachusetts
Individuals who want an affordable apartment are sure to be pleased with the new Bristol Commons, at the site of the former Fairfax Gardens in Taunton. With one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom townhouse apartments, these homes offer private entrances, back yards, in-unit washers and dryers, dishwashers, and play areas. Add lots of parking, exterior storage and – get this – a Community Farm!
Trinity Financial — a recognized leader in the creation of affordable communities — completed the 80 townhomes and eight duplex units on only a third of the 43-acre site. There are 10 market-rate units; the other 78 are geared to households earning up to 60 percent of the Taunton area median income.
Other amenities at Bristol Commons include a Community Center, community gardens, a basketball court and, of course, the Community Farm.
The Taunton Housing Authority also awarded Trinity, as part of the same project, the job of redeveloping a Brownfield site in downtown Taunton. This is now Lenox Green. Residents appreciate the nearby public transit, shops and restaurants. There are 18 townhomes and 54 apartments in a three-story mid-rise building with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Raised garden beds, walking paths, a community room and a playground are among the other amenities offered. Income restrictions apply.
Market-rate apartments, only, are available: two-bedroom apartments start at $1320; three-bedroom apartments start at $1550.
