20 Oct Trinity Management’s Courthouse Lofts Named a Finalist for the Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award
In a recent article by The Urban Land Institute (ULI), Trinity Management’s Courthouse Lofts was highlighted as a finalist for the Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing award. The Courthouse Lofts, located in the heart of Worcester, is recognized amongst others as a development that succeeds in expanding housing opportunities. Offering affordable living opportunities in a vibrant community, Trinity Management is proud to have their Worcester property up against four other amazing communities for the award.
The Urban Land Institute is one of the oldest and largest networks of real estate and land use experts in the world, whose mission is to shape the future through community development. Along with recognizing communities through a series of annual awards, the organization works towards education and research on the topic of community and infrastructure. In 2008, they established the Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing award. The award is named in memory of Jack Kemp, who was the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 1989 to 1993.
The Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing award recognizes developments that encourage mixed-income communities. Each year, properties who meet “affordable” and “workforce” needs are nominated, currently focusing on those serving middle income applicants in the community. Separately, they grant the Terwilliger Award for Innovation in Attainable Housing, which targets both mixed-income and fully affordable applicants. According to the ULI, the finalists of these two awards are “shining examples of how ULI members and other vital housing development stakeholders are leading the charge in addressing the growing home attainability challenges plaguing cities and households nationwide.”
Trinity Management is honored to have Courthouse Lofts named as a finalist for this award, as we strive to provide a one-of-a-kind community for a range of individuals. From families and couples to individuals, this Worcester property exudes the community’s rich history of diversity and inclusivity. The nomination is a true reflection of their efforts towards bringing together a variety of people who contribute to the vibrant community of Worcester.
The 2022 winner of the Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing award will be decided by a jury chaired by Ron Terwilliger, who is the founder of the ULI Terwilliger Center. The winner will be announced in October at ULI’s fall meeting in Dallas. Trinity Management and Courthouse Lofts are thrilled to be a part of the award and honored for the opportunity to potentially be the 2022 recipient.
