The city of Brockton offers a number of enticements for those in the know and looking for outstanding apartment-home living. The downtown now includes Enso Flats and Centre 50 — two halves of a new building with great design that recalls the architectural heritage of the former derelict Gardner Building, which it replaces. Affordable rents (applicants must qualify) start at $492 for one bedroom, $591 for two bedrooms, and $683 for three bedrooms at the 30 percent of Area Median Income level; $984 for one, $1182 for two or $1364 for three-bedroom townhomes at the 60 percent level; and $1250 for one, $1450 for two and $1800 for three-bedroom townhomes at market rates. (These are reviewed annually by HUD and could up or down.)
Centre 50 / Enso Flats are non-smoking buildings. Pets are allowed (restrictions apply). On-site management and 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance will simplify the details of life.
Once called “Shoe City,” Brockton has suffered the societal disruptions associated with the post-industrial economy.
