The Foley Senior Residences sits on a 52-acre site that formerly housed the Boston Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital. Abandoned for 20 years, the building was expansively renovated in 2003 to provide 98 mixed-income studio and one-bedroom units for independent seniors.

The expansive building is impressive in its architecture with its long wings seeming to reach out to embrace visitors as they travel up the long drive circling the grand front lawn. You can also find an MBTA bus stop right out front. Grocery stores, shops, banks, restaurants, and places of worship are nearby.

The Foley is near the Neponset River, between Lower Mills and Mattapan Square. Foley residents enjoy activities such as coffee hours, karaoke, and bingo nights in the building’s Grand Room, just to mention a few. The staff also provides opportunities for physical fitness classes, yoga, bingo, arts and crafts, knitting, and more. Common amenities include a café, dining room, library, computer room, laundry facilities, and a wonderful veranda where residents may choose to sit back, relax, and take in the views of the lush landscape.
