The city of Brockton offers a number of enticements for those in the know and looking for outstanding apartment-home living. These include public rail and bus transportation; nearby highways to Boston, Cape Cod and beyond; the world-class Brockton Museum; and many wonderful parks, including the Olmsted-inspired D.W. Field Park.
Enterprise Main, the new name for the Brockton Enterprise building, has been historically renovated and includes 52,000 square feet of retail/commercial space. The state of Massachusetts has leased about 50 percent of the space. Call or email for information about leasing opportunities here.
Most importantly, the downtown now includes Enso Flats and Centre 50 — two halves of a new building with great design that recalls the architectural heritage of the former derelict Gardner Building, which it replaces. Its convenient location, market-rate and affordable pricing, and many amenities – a fitness room, a yoga room, a community room, a kitchen with TV, an art gallery and a coffee room – make this a winning property.
The residential units have state-of-the art fixtures; energy-efficient, stainless-steel appliances and granite counters as well as in-unit laundries. Parking for residents is divided between an under ground garage and surface lot.
The Enso Flats side of the building has 42 affordable apartments geared to artists earning up to 60 percent of Area Median Income. Ground floor retail space and the gallery complete the building. Artists are encouraged to call about our Artist Preference apartments.
Centre 50 has 42 market-rate apartments and another 29 workforce affordable apartments.
Affordable rents (applicants must qualify) start at $492 for one bedroom, $591 for two bedrooms, and $683 for three bedrooms at the 30 percent of Area Median Income level; $984 for one, $1182 for two or $1364 for three-bedroom townhomes at the 60 percent level; and $1250 for one, $1450 for two and $1800 for three-bedroom townhomes at market rates.
Centre 50 / Enso Flats are non-smoking buildings. Pets are allowed (restrictions apply). On-site management and 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance will simplify the details of life.
Once called “The Shoe Capital of the World,” Brockton has suffered the societal disruptions associated with the post-industrial economy. But, this “City of Champions” continues the legacy of its native sons, boxers Rocky Marciano and Marvin Hagler, fighting against the odds to come out on top. This development is sure to trigger vitality in the downtown.
